Meryl Streep and Kevin Bacon starred together in the 1994 American thriller film “The River Wild”.
Streep plays Gail Harris, a white-water rafting expert who takes her son and daughter on a trip down the Salmon River in Idaho. Bacon plays Wade, a dangerous fugitive who takes the family hostage and forces Gail to navigate the dangerous rapids.
The film was directed by Curtis Hanson and written by Denis O’Neill. It also stars David Strathairn, Joseph Mazzello, and John C. Reilly.
“The River Wild” was a critical and commercial success, grossing over $32 million at the box office. Streep was praised for her performance, and she received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. Bacon was also praised for his performance, and he received an MTV Movie Award nomination for Best Villain.
